/The symptoms of multiple sclerosis
Das bin ich – das kleine wiederkehrende Tattoo ist tatsächlich meines. Die Bilder dieser Serie sind /gepromptete Beschreibungen der nach außen hin unsichtbaren und somit nicht auf fotografischem Wege visualisierbaren Symptome der Multiplen Sklerose in meinem Fall. Diese ersten drei Bilder zeigen das Restless Legs Syndrom, Ataxie und das Uhthoff-Phänomen.
Ich freue mich sehr, dass »Ataxia« aus dieser Serie im November 2025 Teil der add art Hamburg war. Im Juli und August 2025 war die Arbeit in »Glaube, Liebe, /prompt«, Kulturkirche Heilig Kreuz, Bottrop zu sehen und hat bei dem entsprechenden Wettbewerb Bronze geholt. Die Jury war eine KI by the way! :-) Und ich freue mich auch, dass »Ataxia« in der von Boris Eldagsen kuratierten Ausstellung »Rivals« im Rahmen des Europäischen Monats der Fotografie (EMoP) 2025 in Berlin gezeigt wurde, Teil der Erstausgabe des AI Art Magazines ist, in diesem Rahmen das »Goldene Ticket« gewonnen hat sowie in der »Global Fusion Tour« im Design Zentrum Hamburg, in der ORF Galerie in Wien, der Galerie ArtVerse in Paris sowie im OFFFMX in Mexico City zu sehen war, zwei mal (!) im Forbes Magazine und (ein mal) im Peta Pixel besprochen wurde. Die Serie als solche hat eine Auszeichnung der Deutschen Multiple Sklerosegesellschaft (DMSG) erhalten. Zudem waren zwei der Bilder Teil der Ausstellung »The Dark Side« in der Boomer Gallery in London. Ein Video der Arbeit war im April 2025 in der Cluster Gallery, ebenfalls in London, zu sehen. Im Juni 2025 war die Arbeit im »Currents New Media« in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA ausgestellt. Links below!
That's me – the small recurring tattoo is actually mine. The pictures in this series are /prompted descriptions of the symptoms of multiple sclerosis in my case, which are invisible to the outside world and therefore cannot be visualised photographically. These first three pictures show restless legs syndrome, ataxia and the Uhthoff phenomenon.
I am delighted that “Ataxia” from this series was part of add art Hamburg in November 2025. In July and August 2025, the work was on display at “Glaube, Liebe, /prompt” (Faith, Love, /prompt) at the Kulturkirche Heilig Kreuz in Bottrop and won bronze in the corresponding competition. The jury was AI, by the way! :-) I am also delighted that “Ataxia” was shown in the exhibition ‘Rivals’ curated by Boris Eldagsen as part of the European Month of Photography (EMoP) 2025 in Berlin, is part of the first edition of AI Art Magazine, won the “Golden Ticket” in this context, and was shown in the “Global Fusion Tour” at the Design Zentrum Hamburg, the ORF Gallery in Vienna, the ArtVerse Gallery in Paris, and the OFFFMX in Mexico City, was reviewed twice (!) in Forbes Magazine and (once) in Peta Pixel. Sehstörungen, Schwere, Dysfunktionalität der Blase, Orientierungslosigkeit im eigenen Körper, Taub- und Fremdheit und auch »Unkenntnis« der Gliedmaßen – Multiple Sklerose (MS) ist eine entzündliche Erkrankung des Zentralen Nervensystems, die das Gehirn und das Rückenmark umfasst und meist im frühen Erwachsenenalter beginnt. Die Krankheit ist in Verlauf, Beschwerdebild und Therapieerfolg von Patient:in zu Patient:in sehr unterschiedlich, an sich ist nicht tödlich und endet für viele Betroffene nicht zwangsläufig im Rollstuhl.
Die schleichende Verschlechterung der Symptome kann medikamentös und durch Physiotherapie sowie Sport verlangsamt werden. Gegen Spastiken und die auch häufig auftretende Appetitlosigkeit hilft > Cannabis.
Visual disturbances, weight, disorientation in one's own body, numbness and strangeness and also ‘ignorance’ of the limbs – multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain and spinal cord and usually begins in early adulthood. The disease varies greatly in its course, symptoms and treatment success from patient to patient, is not fatal in itself and does not necessarily end in a wheelchair for many people who are affected by MS.
The gradual worsening of symptoms can be slowed down with medication, physiotherapy and exercis. > Cannabis helps against spasticity and the frequently occurring loss of appetite.

Wer eine Beschreibung dieser (und anderer) neurologischer Störungen in Worten statt wie hier in Bildern jenseits von Mediziner:innen-Latein und diesseits von Instagramkachel-Betroffenheitsprosa wünscht, dem sei Oliver Sacks' Klassiker »Der Mann, der seine Frau mit einem Hut verwechselte« ans Herz gelegt (generell ein ganz wunderbares Buch).
